What is Endometriosis?Endometriosis is a legitimate medical condition in which cells from the lining of the uterus (endometrium) appear and flourish outside the uterine cavity, most commonly on the peritoneum which lines the abdominal cavity. The uterine cavity is lined with endometrial cells, which are under the influence of female hormones. Endometrial-like cells in areas outside the uterus (endometriosis) are influenced by hormonal changes and respond in a way that is similar to the cells found inside the uterus. Symptoms often worsen with the menstrual cycle.
During menstruation, the displaced endometrial tissue acts as it normally would inside the uterus: It thickens, breaks down and bleeds with each menstrual cycle. And because this displaced tissue has no way to exit your body, it becomes trapped. Surrounding tissue can become irritated, eventually developing scar tissue and adhesions — abnormal tissue that binds organs together. |

Endometriosis Stages
Surgically, endometriosis can be staged I–IV (Revised Classification of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine). The process is a complex point system that assesses lesions and adhesions in the pelvic organs, but it is important to note staging assesses physical disease only, not the level of pain or infertility. A patient with Stage I endometriosis may have little disease and severe pain, while a patient with Stage IV endometriosis may have severe disease and no pain or vice versa. In principle, the various stages show these findings:

Again, the severity of Endo pain isn't necessarily a reliable indicator of the extent of the condition. Some women with mild endometriosis have extensive pain, while others with advanced Endometriosis may have little to no pain at all. The pain intensity can change from month to month, and vary greatly among women.
Many other conditions/complications are commonly associated with Endometriosis, such as ovarian cysts, irritable bowel syndrome, and chronic fatigue syndrome.

Natural Treatments for Endometriosis
A host of natural remedies which may help with the symptoms of Endometriosis exist, including those derived from ancient Ayurvedia.
Since a substantial amount of chronic Endometriosis pain, and pain in general, is often caused by an inflammatory response within the body, natural treatments for the disease should include methods of diminishing or eliminating this occurrence. Anyrvedic Treatment The Ayurvedic approach to pain management is a holistic one, based on herbal treatments which are effective in healing and controlling inflammation, however, for long-term results these treatments must be part of an integrative approach combining dietary changes, detoxification and therapeutic exercise. |

Water Rentention
One of the most frequent symptoms I have experienced is severe swelling and bloating due to water retention. I did not want a water pill prescription from my doctor and went in search of a natural method of treating this problem. I am happy to report that Sundown's Natural Water Pills do the trick perfectly for me, and at an affordable price (less than the cost of a prescription). I only take 1 per day to keep the water off sufficently, however you may need to adjust the dosage as everyone is different. *Get up to $10.00 off your first order at iherb by entering Rewards Code: QMJ085 Click Here to visit iherb.com |
